4. What is Disc Plough?

The disc plough is a cultivating machine that uses a disc plow as a working part.

The disc is usually a part of a hollow spherical surface, and the edge is ground to cut the blade to cut the grass and the soil. The disc is separately supported on the bearing of the plow. The disc surface is at an angle to the advancing direction and the vertical direction, respectively. α and inclination β.

On the standard disc plough, there are 3 to 6 disc ploughs. During work, the unit advances, the disc rolls into the soil, and the soil shovel rises along the concave surface of the disc while the fit of the moldboard makes the soil collapse and break.

Disc ploughs are suitable for soils that are heavy, dry, rocky, and multi-rooted. It does not require frequent sharpening and replacement, low maintenance costs, and does not form a solid groove bottom. When it is cultivated in green fertilizer field, grass root land, rocky land and sticky wetland, it has stronger cutting ability than hoe plow, good soilability, easy soil removal and not easy to block.

The disc plow was invented at the end of the 19th century, and then there was a great development. By 1962, the world's disc plough production had accounted for 10-16% of the total number of plows. It is used more in the southern United States and central Oceania. China began to use disc ploughs in the late 1950s, and in the mid-1960s it began to produce suspension, traction and small disc ploughs for hand-held tractors.
